Don't want to get ahead of myself, but apparently it's already almost 2022! Where the hell did 2021 go?


We're officially living in that future we thought about as kids right? Except its not as Jetson-y as we believed it would be. So, we've lived through (or heard about) the Space Age, Iron Age, Ice Age, Golden Age. So what "Age" is this anyway? Can we declare it the Self-Care Age? - when we all start to focus on loving on ourselves unabashedly?


Anyway, the year 2020 was very weird, right? The year of the virus. COVID-19 brought the world to a screeching, grinding halt. Did anyone else get that eerie, uncertain energy that took over them for a bit causing those not-so-little panic attacks during your first days of quarantine?


But, as almost everything else seemed to stop, one thing that kept going and growing was the need for physical activity as one way to ensure mental health as so much fear and uncertainty surrounded us. With gyms closed, fit peeps became inventors and innovators; filling my social news feed with incredible and sometimes hilarious videos of home workouts using everything from paint cans, gallon jugs, cement bricks, couches and even spouses. It was inspiring to see how ingenious the ideas were, and how much exercise and self-care became a much-needed part of so many lives as we were forced to stay home.


As I took stock of these changes in the fitness industry from my perspective, I continued to receive messages and questions asking for tips on weight training, nutrition and cardio. From those conversations, I knew how overwhelmed anyone can get with all the information on fitness, nutrition, and overall health is out there. Now the good thing about "Googling": there is a ton of information at your fingertips; and the bad thing about Googling? Also that there is a ton of information at your fingertips. It's an information and opinion minefield.


So, as I took the time to expand my knowledge in fitness training and nutrition, I was able to educate clients and friends, as I helped them sort through the information overload so they could get on track to achieving individual health and fitness goals.
